Non-Residential Camps 2010 $275 per week
Cosmic Explorers: For campers entering 4th - 5th grades
Moon Explorers: For campers entering 6th - 8th grades
Galactic Explorers: For campers entering 8th - 10th grades
These awesome four day camps begin at 9am each day and end at 5pm each day. These camps are perfect for local kids who don't want to stay the night or aren't quiet old enough for the residential camps. They can also be combined with the residential camps we offer for kids that are old enough. Campers must provide their own lunches.
Cosmic Explorers
This camp is designed to deliver an introductory look at rocketry, flight, kites, light and energy, and robotics. These concepts are taught through hands-on activities, including build and launch of a rocket, team building exercises, and designing a robot! All of these activities prepare the campers for their final mission, an e-Mission to either Moon, Mars, and Beyond or Operation Montserrat.
Moon Explorers
Get ready for NASA's return to the moon in 2015! In this camp, students will plan for living and working on the moon. They will work as a team to determine where to build thier moon base, design and build lunar lander and moon rover models, learn about rocketry and space travel, and also design and run scientific experiments just like NASA! This is all taught through hands-on activities that are based on national and state math and science standards. Students will have fun participating in team-builing activities designed to teach problem solving skills, use team-work in design, and learn basic engeneering concepts. All these activities prepare the campers for their final mission, a flight to Return to the Moon!
Galactic Explorers
Campers participate in advanced hands-on activities, including team building, advanced rocketry, advanced concepts of flight, kite building, light and energy, microgravity, advanced robotics, and introductory level programming. These activities prepare campers for their final mission, an e-Mission to either Operation Montserrat or Alaska on Alert.

June 28th - July 1st: Cosmic Explorers Camp (Ages 9-10)
July 6th - July 9th: Moon Explorers Camp (Ages 11-13)
August 2nd - August 5th: Galactic Explorers Camp (Ages 13-16)

* Pending Adequate enrollment, Challenger Learning Center of Alaska reserves the right to combine the boy's and girl's camps into one co-ed, make either camp co-ed (and maintain current dates), or cancel the camps.
